December 31, 2010 Friday Night

Last night we watched the movie My Soul To Take. It was a horror thriller. Not very good and not worth watching if you have yet to see it. Went to bed around 10 PM.

This morning I was up by 7 AM, fed the dogs and got Tony off to work. Read the morning paper and made myself some breakfast. In the morning paper it reported that Milwaukee is the drunkest city in the USA. Kinda figured we would be on top since we are the beer capital of the world and there is a bar on every corner in Milwaukee. Spent the morning doing a little outside since it was in the 50s today in Milwaukee. Picked up the dog poop. Took Stella for a walk around the block. Even had the side sliding glass doors open for a while when the sun was out. Had a great lunch with the guys. Spent the afternoon after lunch working on the next music mix. About 3:30 PM I went to take a nap. Tony came home shortly after that and tried to take a nap also. No such luck. Between Barkley shaking his head and Bo wanting to play we did not get a nap in. Making a frozen pizza for dinner. Meeting the guys from lunch at a bar only a few blocks away from our house for New Years. My ex owns the bar so it should be a fun night. If only I had gotten a nap. Even an hour would have been nice. It is going on 7 PM and I sure hope I can make it until midnight without a nap. Talked with my nephews a couple times on Skype today. They love calling their uncle Dave. Hope everyone has a great New Years celebration.

December 30, 2010 Thursday Night

Last night we watched the movie Knight and Day with Tom Cruise. It was a good movie. Tom Cruise's character was a little over the top and they made him out to be a super hero of sorts. It was an enjoyable movie to watch for free though. Much of the movie was very unrealistic but entertaining. Went to bed around 10 PM. Tony did find his cell phone.

Today I was up by 6:30 AM. Fed the dogs and got Tony off to work. I did very little all day today since it was cloudy, foggy, and drizzled all day. It was in the 40s today but you would not know it because of the fog and no sun. The snow is almost all gone. My nephew called me on Skype this morning to show me his chocolate chip pancakes he was eating. Have I mentioned how cool Skype is? LOL. They called me again later in the morning to show me their Guinea pigs getting fed and the noise they make when being fed. So cute. Most of the day I laid on the couch with the dogs and watched TV or listened to music. Getting ready to make another DJ Dave Dance Mix so I have to listen to the songs a few times to get to know them and when to mix them into each other. It is a process. Also have to pick out the best songs out of all the songs I have downloaded. Spent the afternoon taking a nap on the bed with the dogs. Vito was not feeling well today, he had the runs and his nose was warm so I did my best to put him number one and give him a lot of attention and love. He spent the day snuggled next to me on the couch or bed. He seems better now and did eat dinner. Haven't quit smoking just yet. I know, it will happen, don't harp on me. If I am still smoking after the New Year Tony will make my life miserable so it will happen by Monday at the latest. Making fried left over spaghetti for Tony tonight for dinner with a salad. Will make myself a sandwich since I did so little today and the bowl of chicken noodle soup for lunch was enough. I will have a salad also. Will watch some more movies tonight that I downloaded since the new TV season doesn't start until Sunday. Only reruns on TV and since we DVD and watch so much TV during the season it leave very little else to watch. Tomorrow it is suppose to get to near 50 degrees but rainy. Then the bottom falls out and Saturday is suppose to be in the 20s when the cold front comes through. If I don't write tomorrow Happy New Year to everyone. Thank you for getting me over 10,000 visitors in two short years and following my life. My only hope for next year would be that more of you leave comments to my posts or leave me suggestions as to what you would want me to write about. Been talking with Peter in Australia via email and following his blog along with my daily visit to Queerty.com and TheBody.com. Tomorrow is lunch with the guys. Should be fun and more than usual will show up due to the holiday and being off from work. Haven't figured out what we are doing for New Years. We will either stay home, go to Tony's sister's house for a Birthday / New Year party, or a bar with the guys we have lunch with. Any of the above will be enough and I will be ready to be back home and in bed by 1 AM. Yah, a real party guy here. LOL

December 29, 2010 Wednesday Afternoon

Last night before we watched a horrible movie I called my sister down south on Skype. She got it set up and we were trying it out. We talked for about a half hour as she took me on a tour of her new home which I had not been to or seen other than in pictures. She has a beautiful home. Puts mine to shame. Her two kids helped with the video tour. I am really loving Skype. After talking to her I put on a movie called Mega Piranha. Now I didn't expect much from this movie but I must say it was horrible. A science experiment gone bad makes Piranha's the size of city buses and they attach people and even jump out of the water destroying homes. It was just horrible. Went to bed around 10 PM.

This morning I got up a little before 7 AM and fed the dogs and got Tony off to work. I then did a little dusting and cleaning around the house. I then gave Barkley a shower with my shower. He is now clean again. Being a Beagle he gets scabs and skin rashes if I don't bath him at least every two weeks. Even with that he is on antibiotics a couple times a year when it gets so bad. As I was drying myself I could hear my Skype ringing on the computer and it was my sister and her one kid. We talked for a while on Skype. Took Stella for a walk and picked up a couple days of poop from the five dogs outside. It takes a while when I don't do it daily with five dogs. I then drove to Pick N Save and did some grocery shopping. Came home and made myself a ham sandwich and vacuumed the house. Making some duck tonight for dinner that my mom bought us for Christmas. I have never made duck before so it should be interesting. Not even sure if Tony or I will like it, but will give it a try. Making rice and a salad with the duck. No plans tonight other than watching TV or a movie. Most likely a movie. Made myself a full page list of things that need to get done in the next couple weeks. Been crossing things off as I do them. Some are bigger projects like clean the basement which will not get done until next week or so. My dad just called me on Skype as I was writing this blog. Guess the whole family is Skyping these days. It is so cool.

December 28, 2010 Tuesday Night

Last night we spent the night watching the movie Slaughter. It was a slasher thriller movie. It was pretty good if you like that kind of movie. It did have a different kind of ending than most slasher movies. Went to bed around 10 PM.

This morning I was up by 7 AM. Got the dogs fed and Tony off to work. Made myself a bowl of cereal for breakfast. My sister called me on Skype to try it out since she downloaded it. I am still so amazed how easy it is to use Skype and how I did not know about it before the other day. It will be nice to talk to her and her kids in the future using the video phone. Drove to Walgreen's this morning to pick up milk and a prescription. Then went to the post office to mail my oldest brother his Christmas presents since he did not make it up from Nashville for Christmas due to being sick. Spent the afternoon answering emails and such. Not sure where today went since I didn't even take a nap today. Making spaghetti, garlic bread and salad for dinner tonight. Nothing on TV again tonight so we will most likely watch a movie or two. We do still have the last to episodes of AMC's Walking Dead series to watch. Might put those on tonight and watch them. Fed the dogs dinner already and just waiting for Tony to come home from work. He called this morning to see if I could find his cell phone. Guess he lost his cell phone. It is not here at home and I tried calling it several times today and no answer so I would have to say he still has not found it. I will be mad if he lost it because it is less than a month old and we still haven't even gotten the rebate check from Sprint yet when we bought it. If he has to pay full price for one this time and pay to reinstall the new service I will not be happy.

I should be over 10,000 visitors by tomorrow at this time. It was my goal to have this amount by the 1st of the New Year. Thanks again to all those who made this dream come true by reading my blog daily.

December 27, 2010 Monday Night

Spent last night watching 3 movies. Watched the movies Waiting For Armageddon, The Other Guys and Open House. Waiting for Armageddon was about religion and the nut jobs that think the end of the world is coming soon. It was interesting. The Other Guys was a comedy and was OK, funny in parts. Open House was a thriller movie and was pretty good. Was a good choice of movies. I still think the best movie I have seen lately was called Frozen.

This morning I was up by 6:30 AM. Fed the dogs and got Tony off to work. Made myself some breakfast and started taking down the Christmas decorations around the house. I know it is bad luck to take them down before the New Year, but the house looks so much less cluttered with all the Christmas stuff packed away. Made at least 8 trips to the basement with boxes. Still have up the decorations outside. Might take them down on Thursday since we might be in the 40s by the end of the week. A heat wave here in Milwaukee. Spent the rest of the morning cleaning up the mess and vacuuming the house with my new vacuum. Started to take a short nap this afternoon and then got a call from the friend who owns the white dog we dog sit for. He was taking the dog for what could be it's last trip to the vet and wanted me along for support. Never a fun job but I said I would, so I felt I should. Ended up bringing the dog home with some pain medicine. Honestly, if it were my dog it would have happened. The dog is 16 1/2 years old, has no mind left, and can hardly walk. But how do you tell someone they have to do it today. I did have a long talk with the friend and told him he has to do it soon. He is not doing the dog any favors by keeping it alive when it is so old and in pain. It breaks my heart but it is not my dog. I know he just wishes he would wake up one morning and the dog died in it's sleep. Sorry to say it doesn't happen that way and we have to be strong and do what is right for the dog. I honestly feel we are more humane to animals in that time than we are to humans, letting them die slowly. I would have no problem putting my partner or family member to end their life if they had no quality left. I would hope someone would do the same for me rather than let me die slowly in pain. After I got home I walked across the alley and spent an hour talking with the neighbor about our Christmas's. Got back home at 4:30 PM and started making dinner. Making a big steak, mashed potato and corn with a salad for dinner. Got the steak in a big box of meat from my mother for Christmas. It should be good. I am going to broil it, makes such a mess, and spells up the house, but will taste so good. Will most likely watch some more movies tonight since nothing on TV. Tomorrow I have a list of places to go to. Tomorrow is also my target day to quit smoking. Yes, quit smoking. I only have a half pack left and when it is gone, no more cigs. It has to happen. I've been putting it off for a year and have no more excuses. I will not be a nice person for a while after tomorrow. It is best everyone stay away from me for the first week. Wish me luck.

December 26, 2010 Sunday Morning

I have Skype. I can be Skyped at david.jones.2659 Call me and lets talk face to face.

It is Sunday morning and for the most part Christmas is over. I will break it down, but in summary, it was one of the best I have had in years. Nothing over the top or extra ordinary. Just a very nice, as hoped and planned, couple of days with family and Tony.
Christmas Eve
The afternoon mail included a very tacky letter from Tony's brother's mother-in-law. Seems one of the grandson's cars she bought for him has a small dent and she wants Tony to fix it for his brother as a Christmas present to him for his son. Yes, read that again. She continued about how she is out of money because of buying two kids cars and on and on. WHAT! Needless to say we spent the afternoon rereading the letter and shaking our heads at the 'balls' some people have. The repair is about a $900 job because the front bumper would have to be replaced. Tony should just do it for free? This is the brother that has cancer son but we don't have that kind of money. Much less it is a small dent and the car drives fine. Honestly, it is the size of a quarter dent. We went to Tony's mom's house around 6:30 PM. For the first hour it was just his mother, brother, sister, niece, and another couple we didn't know. I am very fond and get along great with Tony's family. Actually I keep the laughs going or at times they would just sit there watching TV. A little after 8 PM his other brother, his wife and two kids 17 and 19 showed up. This is the brother who just found out he has cancer a month ago and has been in treatment for the past month. He seemed very weak. He is usually a bigger version of my Tony. They look very similar. He now eats with a feeding tube and it has caused him to loose a lot of weight. I had a nice conversation with him and he even showed me his feeding tube which he does not show to many people. By the end of the night I made sure I told all four of them that Tony and I are here for them if they need anything. We gave his mom a McDonald's gift card - it's what she wanted and will use. We got the usual stuff she buys during the year on sale at the discount stores, in sizes either too small or too large. LOL. It's the thought that counts...right? We got home a little before 10 PM. After Tony opened a bottle of beer and I made a soda we opened a couple of the presents to and from each other. The first was the two one piece red sleeper jumper suits I bought, one for each of us. I will put two pictures of us in them at the bottom of this post. They even have the built in footies. We had something on the TV not worth our attention. Went to bed close to midnight which is late for us.

Christmas Day
Saturday morning we slept in until about 7:30 AM which is late for us. I made us some breakfast bowls to eat. We then started exchanging our gifts to each other. Mind you I never get much or expect much from Tony. He is not one to go out of his way to Christmas shop for me until the last day. Then it is usually crap. I got Tony a bunch of stuff he would want and has asked for the last couple months. Nothing worth tooting my horn on. There was a stack from him to me. The last two presents he gave me were the best of the bunch. The second to last was a new vacuum. Now we do have a vacuum that works and I would usually not be thrilled with getting a vacuum but I have to admit after we set it up and tested it, it works much better than the one we have. The last present he gave me to open was a big box. I honestly had no idea what it was. Yes, I shook the boxes the day prior and figured out pretty good what was in them, even the vacuum. But this last box I had no clue. I have to set this up. As you all know I love my dogs. After the four have died I have bought life size statues of them and they sit in the living room as a reminder. After loosing my Buddy last year I have searched everywhere for a statue, life size, of him. Even in a stuffed animal no luck. He was a border collie springer spaniel mix and did not look like most common dogs. In the box was a life size stuffed animal border collie springer spaniel mix dog that looked just like Buddy after he would get his hair cut. I broke out crying as I took it out of the box. It honestly took me by surprise and is one of the most thoughtful, actually listened to me, present I think I have ever gotten from Tony. It took me a while to even pull myself together all morning. I will post a picture of the stuffed animal at the bottom of this post. We left the house around 12:30 PM driving the 45 minutes to my parents house. We decided to take Bo with us this time. This is only the second time in his first year of life going anywhere. He cried at times on the way out there laying in my arms. I kept telling him he was lucky and would be coming back home to his puppy friends again. Got to my parents home and everyone except my one brother from down south was there. He was to drive up but was sick and did not. Had an enjoyable time with my family and their other halves and children. My sister's husband is a strong Republican and sometimes the conversations can get political and after stating my point of view, hearing his, and discussing for a while, it is best to walk away. LOL. Enough said. He is a nice guy and my sister seems happy with him so that is enough for me. Their two kids are the cutest kids you will ever lay your eyes on, and I'm not just saying that because I am their uncle. They are also so well behaved for being under 10 years of age. Exchanged our presents with each other and ate a ham mom had made for a dinner. Before we left my niece and brother were talking on her laptop using Skype. I found out all I could from them about it. Surprised actually I had not known about Skype. I even got a new computer camera for Christmas from Tony which I asked for. So now I could put this camera to good use. Left their home around 4:30 PM and got home close to 5:30 PM. Fed the dogs and sorted out the presents. I then set up my computer camera and downloaded Skype. After less than a half hour I called my sister to talk to her kids and test it out. Worked great. Wow. Where have I been and why didn't I know about Skype? My Skype phone name is david.jones.2659 . Call me and lets talk face to face. Spent the rest of the night watching two movies. Watched the movies Frozen and Diary Of A Whimpy Kid. They were both very good. Frozen was really really good. Never heard of the movie before I downloaded it. Rent the movie if you find it on DVD. It is good. Three skiers trapped on a ski lift. I will not give any more away. Went to bed around 10:30 PM.

Today we will stay close to home. I do have one thing to return at a later date. I bought Tony a parking stop sign that is missing parts and does not work. I will return it after the Christmas return rush is not so bad since I do have the receipt. Most likely will spend the day watching movies and going through the presents.

December 24, 2010 Friday Morning

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Yesterday I was up by 7 AM, fed the dogs and got Tony off to work. Spent the morning doing things around the house. Went to Tony's shop at noon to have some pizza a friend was dropping off as a 'thank you'. Came home and spent the afternoon listening to music. Tony came home around 4 PM with a bunch of presents for me, he then went back to work for about an hour before returning home. I made pork chops, mashed potato's and corn with a salad for dinner. Spent last night watching movies. Last night we watched the movies The Town and Step Up 3. Both were OK movies. The Town was better than Step Up. Went to bed around 10 PM. Actually The Town was a good movie and worth seeing.

This morning we actually slept in until about 7:30 AM. Gave Tony a little lovin before we got up and started the day. Fed the dogs and read a little of the morning newspaper. The last couple nights I have looked out the back window and seen my two rabbits and the possum eating the food I leave out for them nightly. Last night the possum and one of the rabbits were side by side eating. It was so cute. Not sure if those two animals usually are as tolerant of each other in the wild? I put carrots and bread out for them nightly. Tony is off work today so it looks like a three day weekend together. Having lunch today with the guys. Should be a nice lunch as always. This afternoon we will most likely watch TV or take a nap. Tonight we will go to Tony's mom's house for his family Christmas. Tomorrow we go to my family for my family Christmas.

Merry Christmas to all my followers. I hope you all have a safe and happy Christmas.

December 22, 2010 Wednesday Dinner Time

Happy Birthday to Bo. He is one year old today.

Last night we watched the Christmas episode of Glee for the second time this season. I usually don't watch reruns but this was a good one. After Glee we watched the movie Takers with Matt Dillon. It was an OK movie worth renting. I have always thought Matt Dillon a handsome man, my type to a 'T'. We went to bed around 10 PM.

Woke up around 3 AM and Bo was sleeping under the covers. As I moved the covers I could tell he needs a bath really bad. He smelled very dog like. Went back to bed and woke up again at 6:30 AM. Got Tony off to work and fed the dogs. I then stripped the bed and started doing three loads of laundry. All the sheet and covers got washed again. I then gave Bo a much needed bath since it made no sense to wash all the sheets and not what made them what they are in the first place. Gave him his bath in the kitchen sink. It is his Birthday today. He is 1 year old today. Since I was washing dogs I decided to take Stella into our walk in shower with me and give her a bath / shower also. Both dogs are for the most part good about letting me do what I want to them while bathing them. I do give them baths about every two months. Vito is next and is not happy and the hardest to hold on to. He then goes around like a big bully terrorizing the other dogs growling and biting at them. Jeez, he is the smallest in the bunch. LOL. After Stella and my shower I left to go to my therapist meeting at 10 AM. I had a lot to talk about, one thing being the cashew thing yesterday. My therapist thinks couples counseling might be something to think about. I told him Tony would, but we have done it before and nothing every changes. Tony's view is 'this is me, take it or leave it'. So how do you change that. I walked out of the therapist office not in a good mood, not liking what I heard from him in the hour about the options and decisions I should work through in my head. I almost didn't make another appointment because of this. I did make one for in two weeks, after the holidays. My therapist thinks there is a lot of 'unsaid' topics that need to be discussed in order for us to move forward. I agree in a way but know 'those' conversations would most likely be the end of the relationship. So I have a lot of thinking and decisions to make after the holidays. Got home and after an hour got back in the car and went grocery shopping to get it over with for the week. By the time I got home I was tired and took an hour nap with the dogs. I am now making spaghetti for dinner with a salad and bread. Nothing again on TV tonight. Yes, we do plan our nights and lives around TV. Remember it is Milwaukee and freezing outside. Will most likely watch a movie or DVR. Nothing to do tomorrow so I will most likely spend the day doing some deep cleaning.
(wow, this was the first time I spelled spaghetti correctly, according to spell check, LOL)

December 21, 2010 Tuesday Night

Spent the night watching a few episodes of the TV soap One Life To Live that I have been watching since I was 16 years old. Caught up on about 4 episodes from the last two weeks. Went to bed around 10 PM.

This morning I got up around 7 AM and got the dogs fed and Tony off to work. Read a little of the newspaper and made myself a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Spent the morning watching a little TV as I did things around the house. About 11 AM I drove to Walgreen's to exchange the cigs I bought yesterday. They gave me the regular size rather than the longs. I did not notice this until I got home yesterday because the checkout lady put them in my bag before I could see them. Then I drove to Tony's shop and picked him up to take him to the big sale at AJ Wright. We spent about an hour in the store and spent about $115.00. Of course most of the stuff we bought was for Tony since I was being my generous self shopping for him and keeping him in mind, and he was shopping for himself as usual. I swear I will get nothing from him for Christmas again this year. He puts so little thought into things like this. I was not happy anyway with him when I walked into his shop to pick him up. Every year he gets a big glass vase of whole cashews from one of his vendors. I tell him every year the day after Thanksgiving that when they arrive to bring them home because I love whole cashews and this is a very expensive present. I again reminded him many times since Thanksgiving this year. I walked into the shop to see this years big vase of whole cashews half empty. I was mad. I guess I am being childish but I honestly don't ask for much and tell him every year I want them. Him and the employees can have any other gifts that come in this time of year. I only want the cashews. Tony told me one of his employees, his brother, opened them after they arrived yesterday when Tony was out getting parts. How frickin dare him. He is an employee, not an owner. What frickin right does he have to open or take any gifts that come to Downtown Auto Body. Of course Tony blew it off like it was nothing again which makes me even more mad. He says he talked to his brother about it, but I honestly know Tony well enough to know not much was said and more should have been said about it. As you can tell many hours later I am still mad about this. What makes matters to me worse is the fact that this could be rectified by him making the employees buy me a new one. But Tony will not be out Christmas shopping for me to even do this. Sometimes I honestly feel Tony puts less into this relationship than I do. Everything I do revolves around him, for good or bad, but he goes through his day thinking about the moment and that is all. Came home and wrapped some of the presents for Tony and then took a short nap with the dogs. Got up around 3:30 PM and started doing a little straightening up around the house and thinking about dinner. I made a salad for both of us and I think a frozen pizza will be the main course. I have no ambition to cook for such an ungrateful man. Will most likely watch the repeat of Glee tonight since it was the Christmas episode. It was only on a couple weeks ago but it was very good. After that it will be a movie or more TV on the DVR since all reruns again on TV tonight. We did get about 2 inches of snow which I shoveled before my bowl of cereal this morning. It got to about 33 degrees today so half the snow is already gone. Tomorrow I have a morning appointment with my therapist. Good timing.

December 20, 2010 Monday Dinner Time

DADT is repealed! It's about time. Why this was able to be enforced for as long as it was is terrible. For once in a long time our elected officials (at least enough of them) did the right thing.

Happy Birthday to my sister. Wow, are we getting old. Did you ever think you would get to this age?

Got up around 7 AM and fed the dogs and got Tony off to work. Made myself a bowl of Peanut Butter Captain Crunch and called my mother to tell her she was right about one of the movies we watched last night. It was a good movie. Last night we watched two movies. We watched Unstoppable and Monsters. Both were very good movies. Unstoppable had me at the edge of my couch for the last half of the movie. I recommend this movie and it is still at most movie theaters. If you don't see it at the theater, rent it or buy it. It really is a good movie. Monsters was also good. I read something about this movie in Entertainment Weekly. Yes the monsters were a little corny lookin but the plot was good and could happen. The acting was also good. Not everyone will like the movie so google it first and see if it is for you. Spent this morning doing a little dusting and vacuuming. Even vacuumed a small dog from under the bed. LOL. My house is clean ........... enough. I would not like someone coming over with a white glove and going around the house, but it is clean when you consider I have five dogs running around and honestly run this household. Everything we do revolves around the five dogs. It is the life we chose. Tony came back home from work a little while ago to get a can of coffee for the shop. I bought a lot of them when they were on sale so I was happy he remembered. When he comes home during the day I always look at him and say 'you didn't call, what happens if one of my boyfriends were here?'. LOL. He always comes back with something funny like 'then I would meet him' or 'he would have told you he stopped by me at the shop first'. LOL. About 11 AM I drove to Walgreen's, then AJ Wright to see what they had for Christmas presents, then went to McDonald's for lunch. The store AJ Wright is going out of business and everything is an extra 25% off. Bought a bunch of little stuff for Tony. Stopped off at Tony's shop to eat my lunch so the dogs wouldn't want half of it if I ate it at home. Tony was out getting parts and was not at the shop. Got home a little before 2 PM. Put some Mariah Carey Christmas music on the sterio and layed down with the dogs for about an hour. Making a beef roast, potatoes and corn with a salad for dinner. Nothing on TV again tonight. I will be so happy when the holidays are over and the TV goes back to first run shows. Will most likely watch something on the DVR or a movie I downloaded. Suppose to start snowing tonight and we might get about 3 inches when it is all done by tomorrow morning. Cloudy and in the twenties today in Milwaukee.

December 19, 2010 Sunday Night

Why do the weekends go so fast when we do so little?

Friday night we watched the movie Dinner With Smucks. It was funny and enjoyable. Went to bed around 10:30 PM.

Saturday we actually slept in until around 7:30 AM, which really is late for both of us. I made us a small breakfast and we spent most of the day on the couch watching TV. We spent the afternoon watching the movie Les Miserables. I would give anything to find a cam of the actual Broadway theater production live. Even if the quality was not good I would pay an arm or a leg for the musical on video somehow. I have searched and searched and still can not find a pirate version of the play. The movie version is nice but I do enjoy the musical which is why I have seen it many times and we have tickets to see Les Miserables twice in April 2011. It is a long movie and I had to wake Tony a few times as we watched it. I was hoping watching the drama version would help him understand the musical, I don't think it did. We went out for dinner with Tony's family for his mother's Birthday. It was good food and we got to see his sister's kids so it was all worth it. Stopped off at a friends bar for one drink since it was the bar's Christmas party. Since we don't drink or go out much we have lost a lot of friends and we are kinda out of the party loop. Came home and watched two movies: Needle and Vampires Suck. Needle was a horror flick and was OK, Vampires Suck was a spoof of the Twilight Movie. It had it's funny parts. We went to bed around 11 PM.

This morning we again slept in until after 7 AM. I made eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast. Spent the morning reading the Milwaukee Sunday newspaper. Around lunch time we drove to the pet store to buy some spray we can put on the kitchen wood cabinets because Bo is always chewing on the corners when we are not home. Most of the corners on the kitchen cabinets and the corner moldings are all chewed from him. I do give him spankings when I come home and find they have been chewed but it has not stopped him from doing it so it is time to try something else. The spankings hurt me more than him. LOL. It is more for show than anything else and he sometimes pees when I am yelling at him so it is much harder in a way on me than him since I have to clean the mess. Wanted to buy a Bitter Apple type spray and we bought a spray called Fooey Ultra Bitter Spray. Of course when we came home from the pet store more wood shavings were on the floor and he had chewed more and did more damage. After his spanking I sprayed all the areas he has been chewing. Time will tell if it works. Bought the dogs a couple toys also. Ate lunch at Burger Kings and came home after buying the weeks worth of lottery tickets. Watched a little TV and then Tony said he was going to take a nap so I went with him and the dogs all followed. After about an hour of trying to nap with no room on the bed I finally gave up and now am writing this post while he is still sleeping. There is nothing again on TV tonight so I figure we will watch a movie or two. I will let you know what we end up watching and if it is worth your time seeing it. So far the only recent movie I would recommend is The Social Network which we watched a couple days ago.

December 17, 2010 Friday Night

Last night we watched the movie Repo Man. It was OK. We then went to bed around 10:00 PM.

This morning I was up by 7 AM and got the dogs fed and Tony off to work. Had a bowl of cereal for breakfast and spent the rest of the morning working on this blog and cruising the Internet. Tony came and picked me up around 11:30 AM to go to lunch with the guys. Had a great lunch as usual. Spent the afternoon listening to the soundtrack to Les Miserables and a little Mariah Carey while I laid on the couch with the dogs. Just finished vacuuming the house and now I am waiting for Tony to come home from work for the weekend together. Making leftovers for dinner. Nothing on TV again tonight so we will watch some more movies that I downloaded. I do spend the day searching for new movies to download and download the ones that sound good or interesting. The only plans we have this weekend is a Birthday dinner for Tony's mom Saturday night. It is suppose to be cold again this weekend in Milwaukee. Tomorrow the weather man is saying a high of 15 degrees. We will most likely spend the weekend watching TV. If I ever run out of movies to watch we do have the entire 6th season of Weeds to start watching. Maybe tomorrow we will spend the day 'smoking' and watching Weeds. LOL. Woke up today with shoulder pain. It feels like stress but I honestly have nothing to be stressed about so I think I must have slept wrong last night.

December 16, 2010 Thursday Dinner Time

We did end up watching two movies last night. We watched the movies Sonny and The Social Network. Sonny was a 2002 movie staring James Franco as a hustler, it was OK. The Social Network took a while to get into the fast talking computer lingo but ended up being a very good movie. I can't believe the guy who created Facebook was such an asshole towards his best friend and tried screwing him out of millions of dollars. Especially when it was because of his friend they had any money in the beginning at all to work with. I also did not know the guy who created Napster got millions of dollars in this settlement also and how much he was involved. It was an educational movie. I do suggest seeing The Social Network. Went to bed around 10:30 PM.

This morning I felt like I could have stayed in bed all morning. Ended up pushing myself out of bed around 7 AM so I could see Tony for a bit before he left for work. After I fed the dogs and got Tony out the door I made myself a breakfast bowl to eat. Spent the morning rearranging the furniture in the living room since the furniture has been the same for so long. Then showered and drove to the bank to deposit my ADAP check for last months health insurance reimbursement. Made myself a ham sandwich for lunch. Spent the afternoon listening to the music from the TV show Glee. Making spaghetti for dinner tonight with a salad and garlic bread. I think tonight is all reruns again on TV so we will probably watch a couple more movies. Tony was hinting last night he needs a little lovin so I will have to give him some tonight. He wanted some last night and I told him I was tired and had a 'headache'. LOL. So I will have to break down tonight and give him some. It is a little warmer today in Milwaukee. I think it got into the 20s today. Big warm up hey? Welcome to my world. It is only December and already I am feeling a little cooped up in the house because of the cold. Don't know what I will do in January and February. Might have to consider doing a little painting or something to keep busy until Spring. Found out yesterday Tony's sisters dog is doing much better and might not have to be put down. This made me very happy. Also found out Tony's brother who is in cancer treatments saved off his mustache because most of it had fallen out from the cancer treatments. So sad. I don't think in the almost 22 years Tony and I have been together that I have ever seen his brother without a mustache. I guess I should be thankful I have AIDS and not cancer. Never thought those words would come out of me. Tomorrow is Friday and lunch with the guys. I love Friday's and lunch with the guys. Not only do I get a good lunch with great friends, but that means two days with Tony coming. Will let you know what movies we end up watching tonight in tomorrow's post. Don't you just love those two videos from Glee I posted yesterday?

December 15, 2010 Wednesday Dinner Time

Got up by 6:30 AM this morning and fed the dogs and got Tony off to work. Showered and left the house around 9 AM and went to Walgreen's to pick up a prescription. Then headed to McDonald's for some breakfast, then to Pick N Save to do a little grocery shopping. Got home a little before 11 AM. Spent the rest of the day listening to music. Tonight we will watch some movies since all that is on the TV is reruns. I have to post two videos. If your a fan of the Fox TV Show Glee you will enjoy the two videos. If your not a fan watch them anyway. It is hard enough to find 'us' on TV and these two videos bring tears to my eyes. I love the show Glee.

December 14, 2010 Tuesday Night

Spent the night watching the CBS TV line up. Went to bed around 10:20 PM after the weather and before sports.

This morning I was up by 6:30 AM and fed the dogs and got Tony off to work. Watched a little TV before showering and driving to Southridge Mall to do some Christmas shopping for Tony. Picked up a couple items that were on sale and even got another 15 % off. Ate lunch at Arby's in the mall. Did a lot of window shopping and the three things I bought could have been purchased at the Kohl's Department store closer to home. Since we really don't need any clothing there is not much else we need or I could find to buy. I will shop one more time next week and if I find something, I find something, if not, I am done. I know I won't get anything from Tony because he hates having to go shopping and this time of year. I remind him daily and show him his current pile of gifts. So far nothing on my side or pile. I always get disappointed from him at Christmas time because he just doesn't care or feel the need to buy me things because he feels I have everything I need already or he bought it already. Hmm. Got home around 2 PM and after a few phone calls I took an hour nap with the dogs. Downloaded a couple movies during the afternoon to watch at a later date. Will let you know if they are good and worth mentioning after we watch them. Making a frozen beef roast, green beans, mac n cheese and a salad for dinner. Will most likely watch the CBS TV line up again tonight since everything else is reruns. Was another very cold day in Milwaukee Wisconsin. The sun was out, but it did not help the temperature get out of the teens today. The dogs are very restless since they have not been outside much because of the cold. When you start to play with one dog, the others all want your attention and want to play also. Not so easy to play with five dogs and only have two arms. Much less when they all start getting into play mood it sometimes can get a little scary and rough.

December 13, 2010 Monday Afternoon

Baby it's cold outside.

It is so cold here in Milwaukee today I am not leaving the house. The high temperature today is going to get to 15 degrees. Wind chills are below zero. I got my last electric gas bill on Saturday and it doubled from the last one. The next bill will be even higher. Yesterday we did very little. It was very windy and cold and my car won't even start. I tried to go buy lottery tickets yesterday and got into my car, which is in my garage, and it was not happy. It would not start. Had Tony drive me to the store in his car since he was dressed anyway. Spent the afternoon watching TV and movies. Over the weekend we watched the movie Saw 6 and Overboard. Overboard is an old movie and I have seen it many times. I love the movie. Not only is Kurt Russell so handsome in the movie, but it is a very funny movie with Goldie Hawn. Made a steak I got from my brother for Christmas via UPS and Omaha Steaks. It was very good. Had a potato, corn and salad along with the steak. Watched Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters before going to bed around 10 PM. This morning I got Tony off to work in the cold. Still all bundled up and haven't even considered a shower yet. Will have to turn up the heat just to take a shower today it is so damn cold outside and inside. Got an email from a guy named Peter that has HIV in Australia. Spent the morning reading his blog all the way to the first day he started it a half year ago. It is a very nicely written blog and I suggest if you like mine, to check his out. The link is: http://lifewithhiv-peter.blogspot.com/ . I found myself in tears as I read some of his posts since they hit very close to home and I can relate. Wrote him a couple emails after finishing reading to the beginning. Hoping Tony will be home soon to try to fix my car since it will not start. I have no plans today and since it is so cold outside I don't want to even think about leaving the house. Tomorrow might be another story so it has to get fixed. Will call Tony soon if he doesn't show up and forgets it does not start. Have a little cleaning to do around the house this afternoon and will most likely take a nap bundled in blankets with the dogs. Not much more going on here in Milwaukee. Did I mention how cold it is?

December 11, 2010 Saturday Lunch Time

Got up Friday morning around 6:30 AM. Was out shoveling the 2 inches of snow around 8 AM after Tony left for work. Took a shower and headed out the door by 9:15 AM. Stopped off at Pick N Save and bought a couple items, went to McDonald's and had breakfast, stopped off at Walgreen's for cigs, and then drove a block down to pick up the books we ordered that Tony and I are in called Shall Not Be Recognized. It was a picture display and video now turned into book form. Since we are a part of it I had to buy two copies. Came home and after a little while left again to pick Tony up at work and go to lunch with the guys. Had a great lunch as always. Came home and spent the afternoon watching TV and doing a little around the house after I took an hour nap. Made left overs for dinner and we spend the night watching the movie The Road. It was OK. Went to bed a little after 10 PM.

This morning we were both up by 7 AM. Fed the dogs and read the morning newspaper before making a little breakfast for the two of us. Tony left for work to handle some things and will be home again shortly. Suppose to get a snow storm again here in Milwaukee but I do not think it is going to be as bad as they predict. It is above freezing right now and mostly drizzle and rain. Suppose to turn to snow as the day goes on. Will most likely spend the afternoon watching TV, maybe a movie or two since it is so nasty outside. Cloudy and dreary looking outside. We were suppose to have a family dinner for Tony's mom tonight but because of the weather it is canceled. Tony's mom does not want to drive to Milwaukee if the weather gets bad. Her Birthday is next week so we will have to meet her for dinner later in the week rather than tonight. Have a good weekend everyone.

December 9, 2010 Thursday Dinner Time

Shortly after yesterday's post I got the mail to find out my food share allowance of $16 per month was being discontinued due to the $1000 I receive monthly from Downtown Auto Body. What? I called food share and they told me they received documentation from the IRS that Downtown Auto Body pays me for 30 hours a week for a total of $1000.00 a month. I told them this was not true and they said to contact Downtown Auto Body. Of course the phone call with Tony did not go well. At one point earlier in the year Tony did contemplate showing me as an employee so I could continue to get my health insurance through the company. We then changed his company to a LLC and me as part owner so we did not have to reflect this anymore due to the fact I don't receive any money from the company and it would effect my Social Security. Tony called the insurance agent which I told him was not to blame. He then called the Accountant to find out that he never stopped this practice for the entire 2010 up to now. WHAT? If I could work, and if I did make $1000 more a month it would effect my social security and ADAP not to mention food share already. I was furious. After many shouting matches on the phone I put my foot down and told Tony he has to have this fixed ASAP. The accountant still had not returned his call by the time he came home early to accompany me for an information dinner on HIV. We didn't say much while he got ready to go to the meeting much less the rest of the night. The meeting was informative and the dinner was good. We came home and watched TV the rest of the night going to bed around 10 PM. Did not sleep well worrying about my social security. How would I survive without it?

This morning my final words to Tony as he walked out the door was that he must get this IRS mistake fixed. I then got ready for my 10 AM therapy appointment which was well needed as well as my 11 AM appointment with my case worker to find out what this mess will cost me. Bottom line I have to get off Tony's company's insurance policy the next time it renews. I will then have to go on COBRA for 18 months and then get state sponsored health insurance. When I got home I told him all this and he said he had not heard yet from the accountant. A short time ago Tony called to tell me the accountant will fix the mistake going back to the beginning of 2010. I do blame Tony for all this because if he took more of an interest in his finances and when signing his monthly tax paperwork, we would not have found this problem almost half way through December, 11 months into the year. So it is fixed but is a good example as to why we need gay marriage. If we were legally married I could get on his health insurance no problem as his 'wife'. It would also mean we wouldn't have to have the company in a LLC because of all this bullshit. So if there was ever a reason for gay marriage it is because of health insurance problems like this. After all this paperwork is finally filed I will have to submit it to food share to show them the information was wrong. All this just adds to my stress levels. Spent most of the afternoon watching the light snow fall. We are suppose to get 3 inches tonight and a bigger storm on Sunday. Making a steak, corn and potatoes for dinner with a salad. Will spend the night watching TV and watching the snow fall.

December 8, 2010 Wednesday Morning

Today was much like all the rest. Got up by 6:30 AM and got the dogs fed and Tony off to work. It is so damn cold here in Milwaukee again today. Do not have any plans during the day today and think I will just stay bundled up on the couch with the dogs watching TV. Ordered two one piece pajamas with footies today on line for Tony and I for Christmas. They are red with paw prints on them. We will both look so cute Christmas morning in them. I will make sure I take a picture that morning. Tonight I have an HIV meeting and Tony is coming along with me. It is at a nice steak house here in Milwaukee and figure we both might as well enjoy the information and the free dinner. He said yes to coming along 'this once'. Here are two pictures for you to enjoy. One Tony took last night showing how the five dogs all snuggle on the couch at night next to me watching TV. The other is of Stella and Bo snuggling on the couch together. They just love each other so much.

December 7, 2010 Tuesday Dinner Time

Got up today around 6:15 AM. Fed the dogs and got Tony off to work. After he went to work I made myself a bagel for breakfast and then started cleaning out the spare bedroom closet. The spare room is a catch-all and every now and then needs to be rotated to the basement. After going through a closet full of clothes that we haven't worn in years I bagged up some of them and hoped that maybe someday the rest would get worn again. LOL. Gave Barkley a bath and then showered myself before driving to Bayshore Mall to get my necklace fixed. The chain broke a while ago and I have not gone to the mall in a while where I know they fix things like this. As I drove by Tony's shop I noticed him outside so I beeped my horn. When I told him where I was going he handed me his necklace and told me to get his clasp fixed also. Spent about an hour and a half at the mall waiting for the two necklaces to be fixed. Went through the whole mall and didn't buy a thing. With all the clothes we have that we don't wear, why do we need more? I ate lunch at Rocky Rocco and picked up the two finished necklaces and went home. Took an hour nap with the dogs and now I am making spaghetti for dinner tonight. Feeling very tired today and I pulled a muscle in my left shoulder some time during the night last night. I think I jerked from having a bad dream and that is how it happened. I need a good rub down. Good luck with that one hey? Will most likely go to bed early tonight since I am tired. Tony was falling asleep on the couch last night by 8 PM before I hauled his butt into bed to finish off the night watching TV in bed. He was snoring shortly after his head hit the pillow. I am sure tonight will not be much different.

December 6, 2010 Monday Dinner Time

This morning I was up and out of bed by 6:30 AM. Got the dogs fed and Tony off to work. Started working on the Disco mixes again since I was not satisfied how the songs mixed together. I tweaked the Disco Mix Volume 1 a bit to make it sound better and re posted it. I then showered and went to Pick N Save to buy some food. Got home a little after noon and made myself a ham sandwich for lunch. About 1 PM I took a two hour nap with the dogs. When I got up I did a little dusting around the house and then vacuumed. Paid some bills and got some Birthday cards ready to mail while I watched TV. Making a turkey loaf, mashed potato and corn with a salad for dinner. Tony just called to say he will be home a little late since he has to go pick up a car part. I guess this is good because it means he has some business and cars to work on. Will spend the night watching the CBS TV line up before going to bed tonight. Was very cold in Milwaukee today. I think we had a high in the 20s today. Too cold to take Stella for a walk. I will have to bundle her and I up tomorrow and walk her since she hasn't been on a walk for a couple days now because of the cold. The next heating bill should be huge since it has been so cold here in Milwaukee and being home all day I have to heat turned up to 68 degrees. Our house was built in 1909 so it is not very energy efficient. I do have plastic in the bedroom windows but that has not helped much and the bedroom is usually about 10 degrees colder than the rest of the house. Why we live here in this cold cold state during the winter is a mystery to me. Some day when we win the lottery we will move to a warmer state. It has been so cute to watch Bo play in the snow. He will be a year old December 22nd so this is his first snow he can remember. We got him last March and since he was so young he probably has little memory of snow. Saturday morning when he went out to pee and there was snow, he didn't know what to think of it. Now he runs and runs in the snow and just loves eating the ice chunks. This is the dog that runs to the refrigerator every time I get ice out of the ice maker door. He loves chewing on ice. Now I know what parents feel like when they see their child do something for the first time. When it was snowing Saturday afternoon he would stand outside and wonder where the snow was coming from, looking up, trying to eat the flakes as they fell. It is so cute.

December 5, 2010 Sunday Night

Friday night we watched the DVD titled Dead Alive. After telling my tenant upstairs about how I like Zombie movies he handed me the DVD and said I should like it. It was OK but I would not recommend it. Went to bed around 10 PM.

Saturday morning I made Cheese Omelets, bacon and toast for breakfast. Spent the day watching the snow fall. We got maybe 4 inches. Spent the morning watching Sell This House and Flip This House. Spent the afternoon watching Speeders and Cops on the Tru network. Tony did shovel the snow later in the afternoon. Spent the night watching the movie The Switch. It was entertaining and worth seeing. Got a call in the afternoon from Tony's sister. Their dog named Little Buddy is not doing good at all. He is a daschund and is 8 years old. He is the dog that when he sees me or comes to visit for a day or two never leaves my side and sleeps nose to nose with me at night. I have talked about him in the past. I honestly think my second dog Shadow is in him. I can see it in his eyes. It is always hard to give him back to Tony's sister after we have him for a few days or I see him at family parties. They live in lower Illinois so it is a 3 hour drive to their house. Anyway, being a long daschund he is having back problems and it could cost over $4000 for surgery. He could not walk the last two days. I was told he was in a lot of pain the night prior. She is considering putting him down. Tony's sister later called me and said that she took him to her chiropractor and had him swim in a warm bathtub and seems to being doing better. I spent the afternoon in tears thinking it could be his last days. Such a sweet dog and we have a connection. I will be heart broken when this dog dies. I told Tony if I have to I will drive down to his sisters house and see him one last time if that time comes. I just need to see him one last time. So sad. Went to bed around 10:30 PM.

This morning I made french toast for breakfast. We spent the morning watching TV and Tony went back to bed around 10 AM until noon. After we both showered we drove to a new grocery store in the neighborhood to check it out. Bought some lasagna for dinner tonight. Heating it now. Also made salad and garlic bread. Will spend the night watching Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters before going to bed tonight. Tomorrow is Monday and back to having the house to myself and Tony at work. I do have a lot of Christmas shopping to do, at least window shopping. I will go to the mall at least once before Christmas. I do have to pick up a couple things for Tony that I find appealing. Made some changes to the DJ Dave Disco Favorites Volume 1 so it might be worth listening to again.

Friday, December 3, 2010

December 3, 2010 Friday Night

The weekend is here. I love the weekends because then Tony and I are together for the couple days. I get so bored being home all week by myself during the days. I posted another DJ Dave Disco Favorites mix for you all to enjoy. It is DJ Dave Disco Favorites Volume 2. Lot of old disco I heard in my 20s at the straight and gay bars. Brings back memories just to listen to them. Seems like yesterday. Some of you younger people may have never heard a lot of them, but give it a listen. It was what we danced to in the late 70s and early 80s. They are my favorites from that time. I have a couple more in the works.
Got up this morning at 6:30 AM and fed the dogs and got Tony off to work. It is kinda funny. Every morning when he goes to work when we say goodbye at the door, we touch cheeks. We do sometimes kiss goodbye on the lips, but most times out of fun we both turn out heads and just touch cheeks. Guess you have to see it to understand. It is just our way. Spent the morning posting the newest Disco mix and then picked Tony up at his auto body shop to go have lunch with the guys. Had a great lunch as usual. Spent the afternoon cruising the Internet and listening to the music mixes I posted. Also did a little dusting and vacuuming for the weekend. When Tony is home cleaning is not allowed. LOL. He tells me I have all week to get the cleaning done and when he is home it is 'his' time. Time to take care of him. Since I really don't like cleaning anyway it is easy to do, or should I say, not do. Made a salad for dinner but have yet to decide what to make as a side since I am not hungry and Tony will most likely not be either. Will most likely make a side of beef stew or soup to go with the salad. Watched the movie The Crazies last night. I liked it since I like 'walking dead' type scary movies. I do recommend it if you like the AMC show The Walking Dead on Sunday nights or the series of movies like Dawn of the Dead. Will most likely watch another movie tonight before going to bed. Tomorrow we are bracing for the first snow storm of the year. Time to get out the shovels. Thankfully the storm track is looking like most of the snow will be west of Milwaukee, but that is if the lake effect snow doesn't kick in later in the day as they say might happen. Right now it looks like 3 to 5 inches tomorrow during the day. Tony was mad when we watched the news last night and they were talking about the storm. Being in the auto repair business he looked at me and said 'why do we always have these damn storms during the weekends when no one is out driving'. LOL. I assured him that many people will be out tomorrow with Christmas only 3 weeks away. Only an auto body repair man would think this way. It is his bread and butter. He always gets a few customers that drive to fast and smash their cars in the snow storms. Have no plans this weekend. I am sure between the TV and shoveling that will be the most of it. Have a good weekend everyone.

December 2, 2010 Thursday Dinner Time

Yesterday afternoon I had a board meeting for ARCW. Was a good meeting which included a lunch. Came home and spent the afternoon watching TV until Tony came home early at 4:30 PM. He did not have a good day at work and called it a day early. Brought home some extra lunches from the meeting which I served for dinner with some chicken soup. We spent the night watching the movie Piranha. It was actually pretty good. Lot of blood and fish eating people. Went to bed around 10:30 PM after a little lovin.

This morning I was up and out of bed by 6:30 AM. Got the dogs fed and Tony off to work before making myself a bagel for breakfast. Got showered and was at ARCW for a dental cleaning appointment. After my dental cleaning I came home and after letting the dog out I walked across the alley to talk with the neighbor for a little while. After I came home I then drove to Pick N Save to buy some food items that I had coupons for. I saved over $20 bringing the total down to $40.00 for everything I bought. I wasn't going to go to the grocery store but the weather is talking about a snow storm here in Milwaukee this weekend so I thought I better fill the cabinets with food. Actually we could be snowed in for a month and still have food. Spent the rest of the afternoon listening to Mariah Carey and dusting. Making a frozen beef roast, corn, mashed potato and a salad for dinner. Will most likely watch another movie I have downloaded and DVR our regular TV programs to watch commercial free over the weekend. Tomorrow is Friday already, where does the week go? Looking forward to our regular Friday lunch with the guys. No plans this weekend which is probably good considering the 5 inches of snow that is set to arrive on Saturday.

I added a lot of pictures along the left side border. If you haven't ventured down the blog for a while you might want to check out all the pictures I added. Most of the pictures are the Christmas Cards I send out each year dating back to 1995. Also added a little caption with most pictures. As you can see the dogs are our standard Christmas Card each year. As the number of dogs change over the years, it is still not easy to get a picture with all of them, much less them all looking at the camera. Thankfully there is photo shop to alter some of them and finish them as you can see. Hope you enjoy them.

December 1, 2010 World Aids Day

Today is World Aids Day. Take a moment today to think about all our friends and family we have lost to this horrible disease. Take a moment to think of those struggling daily with HIV and AIDS. Take a moment to reach out and hug someone who needs your strength. If you can't hug them, call them, and tell them how much they mean to you and your life. I have personally lost so many friends to this disease it sometimes makes me want to cry. I will instead try to remember the happy times I had with them and know they are never forgotten. Unfortunately, it is because of them traveling down this road prior to us that we have the meds we need to live and can remember them.
