August 31, 2012 Friday Afternoon

Last night we spent the night watching the movie 21 Jump Street.  It was OK but I did expect it to be better.  As we were watching the movie I was in and out of the house cutting branches off the front pine tree so we have a better view of the construction.  No more branches in the way.  Went to bed around 9 PM for some lovin and then to sleep.

This morning I was up at 7 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Shortly after Tony left for work around 7:30 AM the bigger construction machinery showed up.  Blocked the street just to get it off the flatbed it was on.  Big huge shovel bulldozer type thing.  About an hour later the DayCare building started coming down.  By noon half the building was down.  Had to stop watching and meet the guys for our usual Friday lunch support.  Had a great lunch as always and hurried home to watching he demolition for the rest of the day.  I think they are just about done for the day.  Half the building is down and in huge dumpsters.

Here is what the building looked like by the end of today.

Being Labor Day Weekend means 3 days with Tony.  No real plans this weekend but there are a lot of block parties throughout the city for the Harley Davidson motorcycle reunion ever year.  Other than that it should be a nice weekend in the 70s enjoying the house and dogs.  Have a great weekend everyone.

August 30, 2012 Thursday Afternoon

Spent last night watching the show Big Brother and then the movie Is It Just Me.  Realized a little into the movie we had seen it before a long time ago.  Tony had no memory of it so we watched the movie again.  It was a good movie.  Went to bed around 9:45 PM and spent an hour just playing around in bed.  No sex, just the laughing, tickling, wrestling stuff one misses the most.  It was nice and reminded me of when our love was new.  Hell, we have been together over 23 years so it is nice to still have someone to play with romantically in bed and still really enjoy it.  Fell asleep around 11 PM.

This morning I was up at 6 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Slept well last night.  Read a little of the morning newspaper and then decided to ride my bike to Pick N Save and Mc Donald's before it gets too hot as predicted today.  Yesterday when I bought toilet paper there was a peal off $1 coupon that would be doubled to a $2 savings.  I didn't notice the peal off until I got home so I saved my receipt to go back today and see if they would give me the $2.  Tony though I was nuts for taking the time to do it.  I simply look at it as a reason to get out of the house and to feel good about saving some money.  Got my money back and rode to Mc Donald's for a steak egg and cheese bagel.  Brought it home and ate it while the dogs watched.  Didn't share a bite with them.  With four dogs, that's a big part of my bagel if I did.  Got some things done on a list I had made.  Called for some estimates on replacing the main water valve in the basement.  Settled on a company and scheduled it for next Tuesday morning.  It will hurt to pay the close to $500 for this, but it is better than it breaking next time we need to shut off the water, being that the house is 100 years old.  I had been told for years it should be replaced and with the new meter not being able to be installed a few weeks ago because of it, I figured I might as well get it done.  Funny how one company said I needed a $90 permit and the other company said I did not.  Went with the lower priced and no permit company, hopefully it will not be a mistake.  How bad could it be?  I shutter at the thought of a flooded basement and no way to turn off the water coming into the house.  With all the work done yesterday across the street I though today would be another day of things happening.  Nothing.  A couple cars with big shots in dress clothes came and that was it.  Typical construction project.  The house across the alley has been getting siding for over 2 months now and it is not half finished.  Took a two hour nap with the dogs.  Hopefully it will not keep me awake tonight.  Was exhausted from the bike ride this morning.  Did some cleaning around the house this afternoon after my nap.  Have to start supper soon.  Just making some salads, canned beef stew and grilled cheese sandwiches.  Comfort food on a hot hot day.  It is close to 90 degrees today in Milwaukee.  I do make a salad almost every night.  Will most likely watch a movie while the TV records some shows on the DVR for the weekend.  Tony will come home sweaty and stinky due to the heat and I will need to get him in the shower soon after he gets home.  Poor guy, I don't know how people work in this heat outside.

August 29, 2012 Wednesday Afternoon

Spent last night watching America's Got Talent and then went to bed for a little lovin before sleep.

This morning I was up at 6:30 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Watched a fourth huge dumpster get delivered to the parking lot across the street at the empty Day Care Center that has been for sale and empty for years.  A little while later the big machines started coming and tearing up the parking lot and trees around the building.  Have a feeling something big is happening across the street.  Went grocery shopping and bought fresh produce and vegetables.  Laid on the bed for a while but didn't sleep and got up in a half hour thinking I didn't want to be up all night tonight.  The air conditioning went back on today since the temperature is headed into the 80s and then the 90s for Thursday and Friday.  A little while ago I saw the owner of the apartment complex next door to the Day Care outside and I went to talk to him about what was going on.  I guess the property was bought and the white building is being taken down to make way for 30 upscale apartments.  Not sure how this got past the neighborhood without any discussion of the plans.  I am glad to hear they are up scale, but question how 30 units will fit and look in this area directly out my front window.  Was told the units will all be 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathrooms and 2 car garages attached, in clusters of 4 units, starting at $1500 a month.  The bad part is I was told they will be three stories tall.  I don't want to look out my front window into 3 story tall buildings unless they look real nice.  I was not happy with the deserted Day Care, but enjoyed the view across the street and towards the East.  It is an acre of land, but 30 units?  Here is a picture of what it looks like today out my front door.  I will keep you up on the progress as it unfolds.  The white building will be demolished soon.
Hopefully we are going to a car show tonight on the south side of town since I had not planned on cooking tonight.  Since it will be to hot the next couple days I figure we better get out one last time.  Will most likely watch TV on the DVR when we get home.

August 28, 2012 Tuesday Afternoon

Spent last night watching the final three episodes of True Blood from this season.  I was happy they killed off all the excess cast that had bad plot anyway.  Went to bed around 10 PM.

Got out of bed this morning at 7 AM.  Was up all night and could not sleep.  Between just feeling restless and having to pee every hour I don't think I got more than a couple hours sleep all night.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Spent the early morning doing things around the house.  Gave Bo a hair cut.  Cut him short, it will grow back.  So now he is freaking out not having hair, running around like a crazy dog feeling the wind on his skin.  Decided to take a long walk along the river trails around noon.  Took my hour walk and had fun looking at all the nature.  Even sat down for a while and watched the river flow by.  Laid on the couch for an hour, but was determined not to fall asleep so I don't have another night like last night, up all night, restless.  Hopefully today's walk will help me sleep tonight.  Been listening to the radio on ITunes the last two days.  Found a radio station called Gay Radio.  The station plays great music and I love it.  Will have to check out more channels on ITunes in the future.  I think since it is so nice outside today we will walk down the street and have $2 steak tacos and some strawberry margaritas tonight instead of cooking supper.  It is 78 degrees with a nice lake breeze.  Will then most likely spend the night watching America's Got Talent and something on the DVR before going to bed.  Just noticed my rabbit in the back yard, out early today looking for bread and carrots.  Funny story.  On Saturday afternoon around 4 PM I told Tony to watch the cameras as I threw three carrots in the back yard.  I told Tony I do this daily.  Told him I am sure the rabbit is in the brush waiting.  I feed him first the carrots to get him out of the brush, then I throw him some bread, so he gets some before the birds all eat it.  On Saturday Tony was amazed how I went outside, threw the carrots and called the rabbit.  Watched him come out of the brush and then threw him bread like I do daily around 4 PM.  He was amazed how I have this wild rabbit trained to come daily and is not afraid of me.  That, or the rabbit thinks carrots and bread fall from the sky daily around 4 PM.  LOL.

August 27, 2012 Monday Afternoon

Spent Friday night watching movies.  Watched the movies Battleship and Bernie.  Both were great movies.  I enjoy alien movies so Battleship was right up my alley.  Bernie was a black comedy staring Jack Black.  I usually don't like him much but it was a good movie worth renting.  Went to bed around 10 PM after a little lovin.

Saturday morning we were up at 7 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Went to a car show in the morning.  Spent the afternoon doing things around the house and then taking a two hour nap with the dogs.  Saturday night we were invited to a friends 50th Birthday dinner and party.  The dinner was at a nice Italian restaurant, food served family style.  Had a great dinner.  At one point I had to laugh when I looked around and Tony was sitting on one side of me and my ex before Tony was sitting on the other side of me, next to his partner.  Of course the friend of ours I despise who made the rude comment a while back was at the dinner and party.  He even came up to me and tried to say Hi and I just blew him off asking him to just leave us alone.  Want to know how much it costs to take 25 friends to dinner on your 50th Birthday?  $1100.00.   We drove the Birthday boy to the bar party afterwards so I found out from him when I of course asked.  Met everyone at the bar party here on the Eastside of Milwaukee.  Had fun with friends we know well.  In fact this friend who's Birthday party we went to I have known for over 25 years.  Nice to have long term friends you have been close to for 25 years.  Quite a history when you think of all the fun times throughout all those years.  Heck a hand full of the people at the party I have known for over 25 years.  Stayed at the bar party until a little after 10 PM.  It was our bed time and time to go home.  Went to bed around midnight after a little lovin.

Sunday morning we were up around 7:30 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  After reading a little of the newspaper we decided to shower and go take Tony's mom out for breakfast.  Had a nice breakfast.  Dropped her off at her home and tried to install a built in microwave without success.  Tony's other brother will have to install it, he has more time and patience.  Drove home in the needed rain.  Watched the movie August which was very good.  A gay themed movie.  Took a nap and of course that turned into another round of loving.  Got up around 4 PM.  Made a frozen pizza for supper and spent the rest of the night watching more movies.  Watched the movies And Then Came Summer, which was gay themed and good.  Then watched the movie Tape 407, which was a hand cam movie about a plane crash.  It was good.  Then watched a bunch of short films I downloaded called Boys Briefs and 1313: Witches Curse.   The Boys Briefs shorts all had a plot, but of course featured hot guys in briefs.  The 1313 show is a series somewhere and it was an interesting hour of TV with hot guys and witches.  Yes, you read that right, hot guys and witches.  Of course the hot guys were not interested in the witches.  LOL.  And to think the witches wanted these gay guys for sex.  It was funny.  Went to bed around 11 PM after another round of lovin.  We sure have been on a hot streak when it comes to loving.  Figure I better keep doing while I still can and 'it' still works.

This morning I was up at 7 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Did very little all day.  It is 82 degrees as I type this and the windows are open.  If it gets any hotter the air will have to come on.  I am hoping it will just cool down from this point on today.  Did a lot of cleaning and little things around the house today.  Took a nap with the dogs or should say, tried to.  Our tenants guest guests kept coming in and out the back door making the dogs bark and me awake.  Not much of a nap.  Making a meat loaf and beef flavored rice for supper tonight.  I ended up putting a different netting over the pond today because the netting I put up the other day, the little leaves just laughed at it and went right through it, dive bombing into the pond.  Had to put last years net up which has a much smaller weave.  The leave can not get into the pond and are falling fast today in the breeze.

August 24, 2012 Friday Afternoon

Spent last night watching a couple episodes of Lizard Lick Towing, Big Brother, and Rookie Blue before going to bed around 10 PM.

This morning I was up at 6:30 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Read a little of the morning newspaper and got 5 movies I read about in the newspaper downloading.  Went back to bed for a while until my mom called around 9:45 AM.  I was going to get up around then anyway and it is always nice to talk with her.  Got showered, even gave Kali a shower with me.  He skin condition is getting worse and I will have to start bathing her more often.  Made a cone type thing for her out of old socks.  Stuffed a sock with several socks and wrapped the sock around Kali's neck, loosely, so she can not lick most areas.  Seems to be working and she doesn't mind it at all.  In fact I took it off for a while and she wanted it back on.  It is light enough around her neck and serves the same purpose as the inflatable one I put on Barkley daily.  I honestly think it calms her down also like a Thunder Jacket.    Met Tony and the guys at Baker's Square for lunch.  Had a great lunch as usual.  Stopped off at Walgreen's to get a Birthday card for a friend who's party we are going to Saturday night.  Found this card that when you open it it screams 'no no, say it isn't so, no no' and on and on.  I laughed right there in the store when I heard and read the card.  This friend is not one to be happy about turning 50.  Bought a gift certificate at the Italian restaurant down the street for him also.  Rode my bike up to the restaurant last night prior to Tony getting home from work and bought it.  Spent the afternoon listening to music laying on the couch with the dogs.  I didn't nap, just laid there thinking and looking at my babies so happy to be with their daddy.  Will make some salads for supper tonight.  Not thinking much beyond that at this point food wise.  It is close to 90 degrees today in Milwaukee and suppose to be again tomorrow.   Figure we will do very little tomorrow during the day due to the heat.  Will nap in the afternoon so we are wide awake and ready to have fun at the Birthday party Saturday night.  We are invited to the dinner and the party afterwards at a local bar.  Will most likely try to take Tony's mom out for breakfast on Sunday since it has been a while and we pissed her off last Sunday.  That's about it, have a great weekend everyone.

August 23, 2012 Thursday Afternoon

Spent last night watching TV and the DRV before going to bed at 10 PM.  Tony was up most of the night with a migraine headache.

Got up this morning at 6:30 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Tony was not feeling well from being up all night and was not happy about going into work.  Poor guy.  I told him to stay home and I would take care of him.  He left for work around 7:30 AM.  Spent the morning reading the newspaper and then decided to cover the pond with the new netting I bought a while ago.   The leaves are falling so fast you would think it is October.  Here is a picture of the netting over the pond.
Hopefully I will not have to scoop out leaves daily with the netting over the pond.  I put it high enough for the birds to still be able to get to the pond.
Mixed up a small bag of cement to fix a hole near the garage.  Got that done and decided to take a nap with the dogs.  Had a great two hour nap and still having trouble getting my mind started.  The air conditioning went back on today around noon.  It is about 86 degrees outside right now and looks like the air will be on for a few days in the heat.  Just took a chocolate cake I am making out of the oven.  Have some Vanilla frosting to put on it.  Should make a great desert tonight since I do not bake often.  Making some ribs and mashed potato for supper with a salad tonight.  Tony will come home tired and most likely be sleeping on the couch by 8 PM.  Will most likely just spent the night watching TV before going to bed.

August 22, 2012 Wednesday Afternoon

Tony came home early from work yesterday around 4:30 PM just as I was making some hamburger helper for supper.  Wish he would call when he is coming home early, I wouldn't have cooked and would have gone out somewhere.  Spent the night watching America's Got Talent and then the two horrible sitcom previews on NBC that followed.  Can take both those shows off my list for next season.  Went to bed around 10 PM after a little lovin.

This morning I was up at 6:30 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Spent the early morning reading the newspaper and listening to music.  Went to Walgreen's around 10 AM to buy Tony some Arizona Tea on sale.  Bought him a 24 can case.  I honestly don't know how or why he drinks the stuff, I think it taste horrible.  Made it out of Walgreen's without buying cigarettes, which is good, my weakness.  Went to McDonald's and bought a steak, egg and cheese bagel and ate it in the Pick N Save parking lot prior to doing a little coupon grocery shopping.  Just bought a couple coupon items and some fresh lettuce.  Came home and laid on the couch for and hour listening to some old music from my college days.  Around 2:30 PM I dragged the lawn mower around the block and cut the little grass we have between the road and sidewalk.  It is 80 degrees as I type this with a nice breeze off Lake Michigan.  Have the windows open and it feels great.  I hope to talk Tony into riding our bikes the mile or so to get dollar hamburgers and french fries tonight.  We went to the Wednesday car show last Wednesday so I think we can skip it this week.  Will then just spend the night enjoying the dogs and TV.  Funny story.  We got a wedding invitation to one of Tony's past employees wedding coming up.  On the reply card it asked 'Any Dietary Needs' and left three lines to write any needs.   I wrote 'Filet Mignon with Black Caviar,  Don Perignon Champagne with Evian Sparkling Water'.   I hope they get a good laugh out of it like I did writing it.   I am sure that is not quite what they ment by 'any dietary needs'.  Oh, I did check we would attend and will attend.

August 21, 2012 Tuesday Afternoon

Spent last night watching 3 episodes of Falling Skies.   Finished the night with the last half hour of the TV show Glass House, before going to bed around 10 PM.  Tony was falling asleep on the couch by 8 PM since he was so tired from working all day.  Hauled his butt to bed with me at 10 PM.

This morning I was up at 6:30 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Stella spent the early morning trying to get what was under the side deck.  I have a feeling it was the neighbors indoor cat since I now have it in my front porch waiting for them to come home so I can give it to them.  I didn't want the cat to be outside all day and get hit by a car or lost or something.  So I thought it best to just lock it up in the front porch.  Of course my dogs know something is in there and they are going crazy all day by the front door going out to the porch.  Hopefully the neighbor will be home soon because I don't have a litter box and I don't want to clean a mess.  The cat has been sleeping all day out there.  Must be scared to death in the big bad world, especially after Stella chased him out of our side yard.  Just got back from a long walk along the river.  Will soon start making supper.  Making hamburger helper and salads for supper tonight.  Will most likely spend the night watching TV with the windows open since it is another perfect day weather wise in Milwaukee.  Woke up in the high 50s and climbed to 74 by this afternoon, with a nice lake breeze.

August 20, 2012 Monday Afternoon

Friday night we went to a little art studio where there were 3 plays by local people.  We knew one of the guys in two of the plays.  They were about a half hour each.  The actors don't get paid and are just doing it for fun.  We laughed and had a great time.  The plays were silly, and we enjoyed them.  I enjoyed them so much I left my card with my name and number and said I would be interested in future plays and parts.  I was in plays in High School and College and enjoyed them.  They take up a lot of time, but I am willing to look into it in the future.  Got home around 11 PM and watched a little TV before going to bed.

Saturday morning we were up at 8 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Drove the monster truck to a car show around noon on the south side.  Came home and took a short nap.  Saturday night we went to Slinger Speedway in Slinger Wisconsin for the once a year Slamfest Gauntlet races.  We took Tony's sister and son with us.  Left the house around 5:30 PM and didn't get home until around 12:30 AM.  Had a great time and will go next year.  Not only is this late for us, but I don't usually leave the dogs for so long.  They were fine of course.  Watched a little TV and went to bed after a little lovin.

Sunday morning we slept in until around 8 AM like the day before.  Got up after another round of lovin.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Tony made the mistake of calling his mom to see what she was doing, not really to go have breakfast since we were tired from the late night.  She asked if we wanted to come over for 1 PM spaghetti.  I told Tony to tell her we would call her back ASAP when we knew what we were doing for the day.  Heck, it is a beautiful day outside and I have no plans to spend the afternoon at his mothers cluttered house, yes she is a hoarder, with no windows open like always, stuffy and waste of an afternoon.  I quickly remembered a big car show in Pewaukee and in 10 minutes we called her back to tell her we would not be able to make a spaghetti lunch.  She told Tony she already started the meatballs and hung up on him.  Oh well, see what that gets her.  We went to the car show and ran into Tony's brother who informed us he would be eating the spaghetti, so all is hopefully well and someone visited the old lady.  Damn, I hate when she gets like this.  She could get out more and do things with us if she wasn't so lazy.  We had a great time at the car show and had lunch there at the show with a drink.  Got home around 3:30 PM and laid around the house with the dogs watching TV.  Make some soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for supper and spent the night watching the movie Private Romeo.  If it were not for the good looking guys in the movie I would have turned it off half way through.  It was in Shakespeare talk.  We could hardly understand a phase they were saying.  It was like watching opera.  LOL.  Went to bed around 9:30 PM after some lovin.

This morning I was up at 6:30 AM.  Managed to feed the dogs and eat a few crackers before I was throwing up in the sink like I do a couple times a week.  That was over soon enough and I spent the morning cleaning the bedroom and rearranging the bed and couch in the room.  Mopped the floors and gave the room a good dusting.  Went grocery shopping with coupons in hand around noon.  Spent the afternoon doing laundry and things around the house.  Bought a Cornish hen for supper tonight, already baked, just needs heating.  Will make a salad and mashed potatoes to go with it.  Tony will not be happy since he does not like chicken.  Oh well, he will eat what I make.  Will most likely watch a movie tonight or get caught up on the last two episodes of True Blood.  It is beautiful again and has been in Milwaukee.  The temperatures are in the 70s during the day.  Wake up is in the high 50s, bit chilly, but warms up fast.  I love this weather.

August 17, 2012 Friday Afternoon

Spent last night watching TV.  Went to bed around 10 PM after a little lovin.

This morning I was up at 6:30 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Was able to make it through the morning without throwing up today.  Spent the morning reading the newspaper and doing my usual Friday movie downloads listed in the newspaper on Friday's.  Downloaded two movies listed that sounded interesting.  Spent the rest of the morning vacuuming and cleaning the house.  Decided to ride my bike to lunch today to meet with the guys.  Took me less than a half hour to ride to the restaurant and half hour back home.   Felt good and might do it more often.  Got home and decided to lay down for a while.  Jeez, three times I had to get up and answer the phone.  Each time it was Rachel from Card Member Services.  WTF?  These people call daily and when you try to talk to them to get them to take you off the call list they hang up on you.   I googled Card Member Services and Rachel and there are pages and pages of complaints from people about this scam of a company.  I got to get these calls to stop, like I said they call daily, sometimes like today several times.  Just got off the phone with someone who contacted me about my blog and their fear of being HIV.  I appreciate the emails and I will call you if you ask.  Making some salads and leftover spaghetti for supper tonight.  Then we are going to a play or I should say, short plays at this little theater on the south side to see the neighbors son.  Should be interesting.  I don't expect much.  Tomorrow afternoon we have a family event on Tony's side of the family in the afternoon.  Then the big drag race at Slinger Speedway for the night.  I have been waiting a year, since last years event, for this again.  It was so cool last year watching the cars crash in a figure eight track.  Was in the 70s again today, in the 60s at night.  Love this weather.  Have a great weekend everyone.

August 16, 2012 Thursday Afternoon

Tony got home last night from work around 5:30 PM.  He showered and after his brother arrived at our house at 6:15 PM, we left the house to drop his brother off at a car he was buying, and then on to the car show in Franklin.  Stopped off at A&W for supper.  Had the ice cream root beer float with my burger and fries.  Damn their root beer is good.  The car show had enough cars to make it worth the trip, plus it was a very nice night outside weather wise.  Got home around 8:30 PM and spent the rest of the night watching Big Brother and a couple episodes of Lizard Lick Towing.  Yah, we are addicted to these repo shows.  Went to bed around 10 PM.

This morning I was awaken by a clap of thunder around 5:30 AM.  Noticed Tony getting out of bed so I had him let the dogs out before the rain arrived.  Got up around 6:30 AM and ate two saltine crackers to hopefully settle my stomach.  Half way through feeding the dogs I knew I would be throwing up soon.  Got the dogs fed and gave Vito his shot and ran to the bathroom sink.  Thankfully the two crackers made me able to throw up the balls of bile in three attempts.  Even looked in the mirror and said 'your getting good at this'.  So sad.  I tell these stories so anyone reading this blog who thinks having HIV and taking a couple pills a day is all there is to it, and it is no big deal.  I hate the first hour or so of getting out of bed each morning.  Always a battle to not throw up.  Taking an antacid at bedtime and my pills with supper hasn't helped either.  Read a little of the morning newspaper listening to the falling rain and thunder.  Got a nice size rain fall this morning which we need so bad.  Went back to bed for an hour between 9 and 10 AM.  Got up and since it had stopped raining I went outside and cleaned out the pond pump and bird bath.  Went across the alley to talk with the neighbor.  Her son is in a play this weekend and we might go to it on Friday night.  Saturday night is the big once a year drag race at Slinger Speedway with the figure 8 race track, so we will be there Saturday night.  So tomorrow night is the only night we have free if we want to see this play.  I don't expect much from it, just nice to know someone in the play and gets us out of the house for a few hours cheap.  The last time we went to one of her son's plays we laughed so hard we almost got asked to leave.  It was not a funny sketch so we should not have been laughing.  Took an hour walk along the river trails to see how the rain we have had in the last week has helped.  It has helped a lot and there are yellow daisies everywhere along the trail.  Making spaghetti and salad for supper tonight.  The windows are open and it is a pleasant 72 degrees with a breeze today in Milwaukee.  So nice, I wish every day could be like this.  Took a picture of the sunflower plant that has managed to grow and live through our drought.  I usually don't let weeds grow in the front part in front of the cars, but glad I let this little guy grow from a spout.  Here is a picture of it before someone picks it.

August 15, 2012 Wednesday Afternoon

Spent last night watching America's Got Talent and then the medical show on ABC.  Went to bed around 10 PM after a little lovin.

This morning I was up at 7 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Spent the morning on the Internet downloading movies.   Downloaded a handful of movies.  Unfortunately a couple turned out to be in another language and I had to delete them after downloading.   I can not watch movies with subtitles along the screen.  I have a hard enough time watching the darn movie even without reading subtitles.   Took a nice long nap with the dogs this afternoon since I still don't feel great and feel like this cold is hanging on with all it has.   Just wish I could feel better.   Tony will be home soon.  Not cooking supper so we will most likely go to a car show or $1 hamburgers at a local bar.  Will then most likely come home and watch a movie I downloaded today.  Not much else today to report, was a very boring day in Milwaukee, not that that is a bad thing.  Got to 80 degrees today and the humidity is back.  Tomorrow it is suppose to be much cooler and rain.

August 14, 2012 Tuesday Afternoon

Spent last night watching the movie Monitor.  It was a good movie until the end.  Hate when a movie ends and you look at each other saying .... WTF?   Did the producers even watch the final cut?  The ending didn't even make sense.   Went to bed around 10 PM after a little lovin.

This morning I was up at 6 AM.  Was throwing up even before I fed the dogs.  Got that over and fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Spent the morning doing things around the house.  Decided to go grocery shopping this afternoon instead of waiting until tomorrow.  Figured I might as well get it over with.  Spent $50 at the grocery store today.  Found out last night a good friend, the one I called the day I found out I was HIV, got mugged walking around his neighborhood the night before.  Jeez, he lives in the nice part of Milwaukee.  He will be fine, but it just goes to show you can not walk around Milwaukee at night.   Sad, but true.  Making some chicken breasts, potatoes and corn, with a salad for supper tonight.  Tony will not be happy seeing chicken, but I am running out of ideas on what to cook when you cook every night.  It is nice enough outside to go to a car show, being in the 70s today and sunny.  I just don't feel like wasting the gas for the little show it is at the McDonald's.   Tomorrow night there is a bigger car show at a different location and we will maybe go to that one if the weather is good tomorrow night.  Will most likely spend tonight watching another movie and TV on the DVR before going to bed.  The weather in Milwaukee has been perfect the last few days, 70s, small breeze, and 60s at night.  Perfect for sleeping.

August 13, 2012 Monday Afternoon

Friday night we spent the night watching the movie Piranha 3DD.  Yes, the sequel to Piranha 3D.  It was pretty much what I expected and kept us entertained for the night.  Went to bed around 10 PM after a little lovin.

Saturday morning we were up at 7 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Around 10 AM we decided to go to a car show about 45 minutes away in the Monster Truck.  We got all packed for the trip and Tony could not get the car to start.  This happens more times than not and he said the problem was fixed.  Tony was so mad.  We got in my car and went to McDonald's and bought some two for one steak egg and cheese bagels and came home to eat them.  Had to reassess the day and decided to ride our bikes down to the lakefront and meet Tony's sister who had a spot all marked out and saved to watch the Air and Water Show.  Spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon at the show.  It was so good and the weather was perfect, in the 70s and not a cloud in the sky.  Here is one picture from the show.
Of course no event would be complete without a picture of the most handsome guy at the show.  So here he is.  Besides my Tony of course.
What a chest, hey?  Rode our bikes home and started to nap on the couch.  Ended up taking it into the bedroom and doing the lovin thing before the hour nap.   Fed the dogs supper and went to a car show on the south side of town.  Got home around 8 PM and spent the night watching TV before going to bed around 11 PM.

Sunday morning we actually slept in until almost 8:30 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Made some eggs and bacon for breakfast.  Spent the morning and early afternoon around the house.  Got Tony to take a walk along the river around 4 PM.  Made some steaks on the grill with corn and a salad.  Spent the night watching Big Brother and some shows on Comedy channel before going to bed around 9 PM after a little lovin.

This morning I was up at 6 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Spent the morning working on a timeline spreadsheet of my life from the day I was born up to today.   I had started it a while ago documenting my medical history but decided to add things along the path of life that ment something to me.  Added deaths of people I knew.  Dates of guys I dated prior to Tony.  Places I lived and visited throughout the years.  When you put everything on a time line it really puts your life right there in your face.  I must say I have had a full life.  It is still a work in progress.  Went to Walgreen's this afternoon to get some prescriptions for Tony and myself.  Tried to take a nap but memories to add to the timeline kept coming to me so I just got up and started adding more and now typing my blog.  Not sure what I am making for supper tonight.  It is a cloudy drizzling day in Milwaukee and in the 70s.  I am not complaining and enjoy the cool weather.  Will most likely spent the night watching TV from the DVR before going to bed.

August 10, 2012 Friday Afternoon

Spent last night watching TV before going to bed around 10 PM.  Was nice to sleep to the sound of a light rain falling.  We got a full day of light rain which we needed.

This morning I was up at 6:30 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Feel a little better today and hoping I am starting to get over this cold.  Read the morning newspapers and talked to my mom on the phone for a while.  Took a shower around 9:30 AM so I was ready for the sound of jets flying over the house today and all weekend.  This weekend is the annual air and water show on the shores of Milwaukee.  Since we are less than a mile from the lakefront, when the jets practice or show we can hear it all and see some of it.  When the jets fly over the house the sound is deafening and the dogs go nuts.  So I wanted to be ready to close the windows and grab a dog or two.  Could hear the planes practice but no real jets until I was about to walk out the door to go to lunch with the guys.  Turned up the stereo loud and went to lunch.  Had a great lunch with the guys as usual.  Came home and just as I was going to go for a walk the jets started going over the house again so I had to close all the windows and crank up the stereo.  Went up on the second floor deck and watched what I could see.  They don't seem to be practicing over the house like in years past, must be budget cuts or something.  Still have a few hours this afternoon and then the shows on Saturday and Sunday.  After a half hour or so I decided to go for a walk along the river since I have not in a long time.  Had a great walk. Was nice to see the trails wet from rain.   A lot of the brush is dead or brown along the river from lack of rain all Summer.  Got home from my walk and just as I was to enter the house the jets started passing over the house again so I went back upstairs to the deck to watch them.  Back downstairs now with the windows open, ready to close them and grab Vito the minute I hear a jet coming.  It was in the 60s when I got up this morning and the thermometer reads 70 degrees as I type this blog.  Nice to have the windows open and have a break from the hot Summer we have had.  Will be nice to give the electric a break also since I got last months electric bill yesterday and it was $300 for the month.  That is a lot for just one month in the middle of the Summer, not even using gas or heating the house.  Oh well, what are you going to do?  Will throw some salads together for supper and think of a side to go with them.  Will not make much since we are never hungry on Friday nights from lunch.  Will most likely spend the night watching some movies before we go to bed.  If I hadn't taken a walk I would try to talk Tony into one tonight.  Tomorrow we have a car show to go to in the morning and we will most likely ride our bikes down to the lakefront to watch the air show in the afternoon.  Suppose to be in the 70s all weekend so it should be perfect weather.

August 9, 2012 Thursday Afternoon

Spent last night watching Big Brother and then reruns of Criminal Minds and CSI before going to sleep around 10 PM.   Watched CM and CSI in bed.  Went to bed with a towel again on my pillow and was so glad I did.  Woke up several times during the night dripping wet from sweating.

This morning I was up at 7 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.   Feel a bit better but not over this cold yet.  Spent the morning doing things around the house and even laid back down for an hour between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM.  Got up and showered so I could leave the house at 11:30 AM and go to my board meeting with ARCW.  Had a very good meeting.  Picked up my prescriptions and food at the pantry and headed home.  It is raining today and has been since this morning.  We need the rain so bad so it is nice to get as much as we are getting.  Looks like it will rain most of the night tonight.  Will spend the night watching tonight's episode of Big Brother.  The rest of the night we will watch a movie or something on the DVR.    Hoping I am rounding the bend and will be getting better with one more night sweating this out while I sleep.  I hate being sick.   Making some salads and a can of spaghetti O's for supper tonight.  Might also pull out some bagels and make them with supper.  Not feeling like cooking tonight.  Hopefully Tony had a big lunch.

August 8, 2012 Wednesday Afternoon

Spent last night at home watching movies.  Watched the movies Mr Hush and ATM.  Mr Hush was horrible.  What a waste of a movie.  ATM was better and entertaining.  Went to bed around 10 PM after a little lovin.

This morning I was up at 6 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Feeling like crap today.  Spent last night sweating all night.  So glad I put a towel on my pillow.  I think I got this cold that is going around bad.  Around 9 AM the washing machine guy called and said he could come over.  Came over in about 20 minutes and took the washing machine apart.  He thinks it was just off center and didn't do much.  Told to let him know if it still leaks, which I am sure it will since he did nothing.  Time will tell when I do my next load of laundry.  Got showered and went grocery shopping.  Came home and around noon I went to lay down and take a nap.  Woke up around 2 PM dripping wet.  Thankfully I see rain coming so going to a car show tonight will be out of the question.  Since I am feeling so awful I am glad to see the rain.  Won't have to feel bad telling Tony again no car show since I feel so sick.  Will most likely spend the night watching more movies since there is so little on TV we haven't seen or have any interest in.  Running low on movies and now I am watching the ones I have saved, most not so good.   Hopefully will pick out a good one to watch tonight.  They all sound so good when I read the reviews, then you watch them and wonder why you downloaded it much less why anyone made such a terrible movie.  Tomorrow I am suppose to have a board meeting in the afternoon for ARCW.  Since I am feeling so horrible it will all depend on how I feel tomorrow whether I go or not.  Going to spell check and go back to the couch.  I hate being sick.

August 7, 2012 Tuesday Afternoon

Tony was not feeling well when he came home, much like me, so I tossed some salads together and threw two TV dinners in the microwave, and called it supper.  Spent the night watching the last two weeks episodes of True Blood.  Went to bed around 9:30 PM with a towel on my pillow since I had a feeling I was going to sweat the night away.  Ended up changing the towel twice during the night.  Guess I am sick.

This morning I was up at 7 AM.  Got as much done as possible so I was available from 8 AM to 10 AM for the washing machine repair guy.  Of course he never showed and I called and left a message around 10 AM wondering where he is.  As of this posting he still has not called me back.  Went to lay back in bed for a while hoping to sleep, but did not.   Just laid there thinking.  Twelve years ago on this date I put my first dog down at the age of 12 1/2 years.  Shadow was an angel and did not deserve the last two weeks she suffered gaging and coughing.  Finally euthanized her, after wishing I would have done so much more for her.  I still am not over this twelve years later.  I do look on the bright side and know I learned so much from that first experience.  I was much more patient with the dogs that followed.  She taught me so much about love and loss.  I'd give anything for just 5 minutes with her.  Shadow, you have not been forgotten.  I will never forget the 12 1/2 years of unconditional love you gave me.  Got out of bed around 1:30 PM and took a shower.  It is hot again in Milwaukee today going to 90 degrees.  Thankfully the future forecast looks much better and in the 70s for the next week.  Now if we can just get some rain.  Pulled out some steaks to make on the grill tonight.  Will make some potatoes and salad to go with them.  I am sure we will stay home tonight being so damn hot outside again.   I would love a nice long day of rain.

August 6, 2012 Monday Afternoon

Friday night we spent the night watching the movie Detention.  It was not a movie I would recommend.  Went to bed around 10 PM after a little lovin.

Saturday morning we got up around 7 AM after some more lovin.   Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Spent the morning doing things around the house.  If it were not going to 90 degrees and humid I would be excited about the street party on our side street called Rockerbox.  Went up to the street party a few times during the day, coming back home to rest in the air conditioning.  Here are some pictures from this years Rockerbox.

And my favorite picture and man of the day at the event:

Around 5 PM it started to rain, not enough or lasted long enough to help the drought situation here in Milwaukee.  Rained for about an hour.  Ordered a pizza and spent the night watching the movie Margaret.  My god, what a long long boring movie.  The plot was good enough, but at 2 1/2 hours long, they could have told the story in an hour and a half.  Went to bed around 10:30 PM after another round of lovin.

Sunday morning we got up around 7 AM after another round of lovin,  fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.   After reading the morning newspaper we went to have breakfast at George Webb's.  There was a waiting line to get in the restaurant so we went to Ma Fischers instead for breakfast.  Stopped off at Big Lots on the way home to look at a sale item.  Ended up not buying the item and left the store with very little.   After we got home around noon Tony settled in on the couch and started to fall asleep.  Figured it was nap time so we headed to the bedroom for the nap.  Wouldn't you know this would turn into another round of lovin.  For those counting, that is 5 now this weekend.  Hell, I am 51 years old.   Turned on the local TV channels around 5 PM to hear about the earlier shooting at the Sikh Temple here in Milwaukee.  Jeez, what the hell is wrong with people?   And once again this sort of thing in Milwaukee.   We have enough with Jeffrey Dalmer and all in our history.  Decided to walk to a new restaurant about a mile away called Clutch.  Was hopeful we could get a hamburger or something to eat.  Ordered a drink and could not find anything on the menu I would eat.  This new restaurant will not survive on the menu they have.  Remember this when they close in less then 6 months.   Walked a half mile more to another restaurant and had a nice supper.  Now we had to walk the mile and a half home, which I enjoyed, Tony complained.  LOL.  Came home and spent the night watching the movie Meeting Evil.  It was a good enough movie.  Best we watched all weekend.  Went to bed around 10 PM after one last round of lovin for the weekend.

This morning I was up at 6:30 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Was soon in the bathroom throwing up like I do too many mornings.  Tony left for work around 7:30 AM and I started laundry.  Got to the second load of laundry when I realized the washing machine is leaking.  Not a lot, but enough being on our first floor that it must be fixed.  Called the place we bought it and left a message.  It is still under warranty for one more month.  Did five loads of laundry during the course of today.  Tony came home around 2 PM with a new lighted bumper in his truck to go under the front bushes facing North.  It is the front end of a 1965 Pontiac Catalina.  Got all the electrical and bulbs he needed and we put it under the front bush. We needed something facing North.   The headlights are light bulbs and should look great at night.  Will see tonight.   Here is a picture of it.

Not sure what we are doing for supper tonight.  It did cool down enough to turn off the air conditioning yesterday, but had it back on by noon today.  When Tony was home we discussed maybe going to a car show tonight.  Don't care either way since I don't feel great.  I think I am coming down with a sinus and lung cold.  Coughing and not feeling well for the last couple days.  Saturday night I woke up with the worst headache, I though my head was going to explode.  Started taking an antibiotic I have today, since I know this sinus infection isn't going away without it.

August 3, 2012 Friday Afternoon

Tony got home from work around 6 PM last night.  Ate supper and got him in the shower.  Figured we had some time until anything worth watching came on TV until 8 PM, so after his shower I turned on the 110 inch big screen projection TV, loaded up an 'adult movie' and we had some fun for a while.   Had some great lovin.  Funny how 'everything' looks so big on the 110 inch projection big screen TV, lol.  Spent the rest of the night cuddling on the couch watching TV with the dogs.

This morning I was up at 6:30 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Spent my usual Friday morning downloading movies reviewed in the newspaper recently released on DVD.  Downloaded some dance music also.  Got showered and soon it was time to go have lunch with the guys.  Tony did not come to lunch because he said he was sweaty and stinky.  Good decision because I would not want to sit next to him at lunch like that.  Had a great lunch and laughed a lot.  Always fun to hear all the stories everyone has from the week.  Came home and put the laundry away I washed earlier and did things around the house while I listened to the music I downloaded this morning.  It is very hot again and nearing 90 degrees in Milwaukee.  It is very humid.  Tonight we will most likely stay home.  Tony will be hot and tired when he comes home from working in this heat.  Tomorrow it is suppose to be in the mid 90s.  Damn, I'm so tired of this heat.  There is a big street party all day tomorrow on the cross street out our alley.  The street festival is called Rockerbox.  Eight blocks of all old vintage motorcycles and swap meet parts.  It is a fun event with bands and hundreds of motorcycles.  Of course motorcycles always include a few hot guys.  Unfortunately it is going to be so damn hot outside tomorrow enjoying the street party will be hard to do.  I am sure we will find a way to venture to it a few times, resting at home in the air conditioning in between.  Fortunately we are suppose to get big storms Saturday night, we need the rain so bad and are considered in extreme drought right now it is so bad.   No other plans that I can think of.  I am sure something will come along and I will let you know on Monday.  Have a great weekend everyone.   Missed you Tom at lunch today.

August 2, 2012 Thursday Afternoon

Made a disastrous supper last night.  The salads turned out as usual, but I over baked the bread sticks and pizza bread so that it was hard to even bite into.  Settled for just salads for supper after that.  Spent the night watching TV until about 8:30 PM when we got a call from our tenants upstairs wanting to come down and talk to us.  That is never good.  The guys came down and told us that his girlfriend thinks someone was up in the apartment this morning around 7:15 AM after the two tenants had left, leaving the girlfriend in the apartment to continue sleeping.  I guess the girlfriend says she heard voices and saw someone in the bathroom.  I was totally freaked out and immediately started looking at the DVR cameras and who left the house and entered the house and when all morning.  After spending about an hour going back and forth seeing no one entered the house it then came down to them thinking I was upstairs using their bathroom.  I just freaked, WTF?   I have two bathrooms in my own unit.  I never went upstairs yesterday to their apartment.  Explained to the boys that his girlfriend must have dreamed it or needs some mental help.  After they left to go back up to their apartment Tony and I sat here just freaked out.  Why would I go upstairs to the tenants apartment and use their bathroom and why would a girl friend say such a thing.  I honestly had no way to defend myself.   At first I honestly thought someone entered our home and that scared the crap out of me.  Then finding out that if someone didn't enter they thought it was Tony or I, just was unbelievable.   Had a hard time falling asleep with this on my mind.  It didn't prevent us from doing the loving thing before going to sleep.
This morning I was up at 6 AM.  Fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  Planned on today being my Walmart shopping day.  Took a Vicodin a half hour before going shopping.  It is that bad here at this Walmart.  Stopped at McDonald's for a bacon egg cheese bagel and made my way into the store.  Thankfully it was still before 10 AM so it was not busy yet.  Ended up getting everything on my list including the 2 bottles of Insulin and needles for Vito.   In total I spent $280.   Jeez, everything is so expensive.  This was just all daily needs stuff and such.   Stopped off at Tony's shop to drop off some paper towel and freezer pops I bought for the boys and shop.  Of course they all had heard the story of the tenants and asked if I had used their bathroom again this morning.  Unbelievable!   Came home and spent the rest of the morning and afternoon doing things around the house.  I was able to fix the vacuum yesterday so I didn't have to break down and buy a new one.  Tonight I am making a beef roast, mac and cheese and salads for supper.  Yah, what a combination, but who cares.  It is in the 80s again today in Milwaukee, hot and humid.  Tonight we will stay home and watch TV.

August 1, 2012 Wednesday Afternoon

Last night Tony and I walked up the street and ate at Stonefly Bar and Restaurant.  Had a great hamburger and crispy french fries along with a vodka lemonade.  Walked home and spent the night watching the movie This Means War.  It was good enough and kept us entertained.  Went to bed around 10 PM after a little lovin.

Woke up this morning at 6 AM all sweaty.  Got up and fed the dogs and gave Vito his shot.  I think I must be coming down with something.  Jeez I don't want to get sick.  Read the morning newspaper and then decided to take the large change container to the bank and cash it in, then go to the Pick N Save up in that direction.  Like I have said before, we have 4 Pick N Saves around our house.  The change came to $306, which was more than I had guessed.  Went to Pick N Save with coupons in hand.  Since I had been to the closer Pick N Save by my house on Monday I saw our dog food on sale, but did not have my coupons for it.  Of course it was now not on sale at this Pick N Save.   Bought what I needed and came home and unpacked it all.  Decided to then go to the Pick N Save four blocks away for the dog food I saw on sale Monday.  The bags are regular price of $13.99 on sale for $10.99 according to the sign under the bags, same as Monday.  I also had a $1 coupon that would be doubled today at the store.  Since this is now down to $8.99 I grabbed all three bags on the shelf, since I had four coupons.  Of course when I got to the register and the price came up they did not come up on sale and I had to take the clerk to the aisle and show her the price sign that was under the bags.  Explained to her I saw it last Monday and planned on buying them today, even coming to this store from the other because of the sign and price.  She called the manager and of course I got it at the signed wrong lower price.  Heck, that $5 a bag savings.  It was worth the special trip to get the bags of food, at this cheaper price.  Came home and after I watched TV for an hour I laid down on the bed with the dogs.   Within an hour the phone was ringing, another survey about the President election coming up.  Got up and decided to vacuum the house.  Got the hallway done and moved into the living room with the vacuum only to see smoke coming out of the vacuum.   House now smelling of burned rubber.  Unplugged it and took the vacuum outside and took it apart.  Could not see the problem but every time I turned it on to see it was not fixed or still smoking, it did not sound good and I decided to just unplug it.  I will give it to Tony to take to the shop tomorrow and check it out.  It most likely has vacuumed for the last time.  Damn, a good vacuum that I need for these dogs is not cheap.  Thankfully I plan on going to Walmart tomorrow to buy Vito more Insulin and needles along with a long list of other things, so I will most likely buy a vacuum tomorrow also.  There goes the change container I cashed in today at the bank.  Jeez, just when you think you might have a bit of extra cash something like this happens.  I had this vision of the thing starting on fire in the house and me trying to get it unplugged, fire put out, dogs and house safe, it was not a good vision.  It will be best to just buy a new one I think, it is over 2 years old and with it's life having five dogs for most of it, I think I got what I got out of it.  Just didn't want to buy a new one and spend the money.  Hate unplanned expenses.  Will make some salads for supper tonight, most likely a pizza or something easy to go with the salads.  Will spend the night watching Big Brother and then TV on the DVR before going to bed.   Tomorrow morning I will 'medicate' myself well before going to Walmart.  Being the beginning of the month I better go early in the day.

Here is a picture of Tony and the dogs last night.  This is pretty much our life at night.  Just insert me in between Vito and Kali and this is how we watch TV.
And a short video of Bo and Vito playing tug of war.
